Scotland A 20 - 62 Wales A

Wales opened their Home Nations title defence in style with an outstanding second half performance in Glasgow to hammer Scotland 62-20.

The visitors took a 6-0 lead through a 13th minute individual Tyrone Mahoney try that Lee Williams converted.
But Scotland struck back straight away through a Richard Knight effort but the conversion was missed.
Lee Williams broke through the centre to score and convert his own try to make it 4-12 on 24 minutes and Mahoney scored his second eight minutes later with Williams once again adding the extras.
Scotland struck back just before the interval to make the score 10-18 with a John Cox try but the conversion was missed.

Half Time: Scotland A 10 - 18 Wales A

Wales dominated the second half as they scored try after try hardly pausing for breath.
Mahoney burst through for his hat-trick on 42 minutes with Lee Williams converting.
Matt Harvey ran 60 metres to score under the posts four minutes later but somehow Williams missed the kick.
Scott Bessant broke through the middle on 51 minutes to make it 10-32.
Trevor James ran 40 metres down the wing to score Wales’ seventh try on the hour and from kick-off Owen Jones caught the ball and waltzed through the defence for try number eight. Paul Emmanueli converted both.
From the next kick-off, Owen Jones laid the ball off to Emmanueli who ran 50 metres to score converting his own try.
And once again from the next kick-off Jones created a try, this time passing to Martin Corley who made a 30 metre run to the line with Emmanueli converting.
Scotland got a glimmer of hope with two quick tries through Ash Carroll and Dave Vernon, one of which converted by Skipper.
But Wales had the final say after Mark Wheeler broke through and offloaded to Jason Hill who scored under the posts. Wheeler converted.
