Firsts cruise to a 6 wicket win at Ticknall to stay 2nd. The 2nds were bowled out for 33 (thirty three) at home to Etwall. The thirds lost away to Etwall by 3 wickets while Ted Shaw scored 125 from number 9 in a 210 run stand with Dave Bridgen as the fourths had a winning draw. >

The firsts travelled to fellow South Derbyshire side Ticknall and put the home side in. Ticknall started well but then spells by George Chapman and Jonny Shales slowed the run rate down to below 3 an over. Although wickets did not fall regularly the runs were kept down and Ticknall ended on 189-4.

In reply after losing Dave Adams Jonny Shales with Tony Mud, Dave Hartle and then Steve Gough knocked the runs off in 29 overs to record a very convincing win. Jonny Shales ending up unbeaten on 97 to see the side home.

The seconds went down by by a huge 198 runs at home to Etwall. Etwall scoered a good 231-6 in their 46 overs and we had one of those days with the bat and were all out for 33. A few balls kept low to bowl a few players but bad batting was the main reason for one of the lowest scores recorded in the league by Lullington recently.

The thirds lost away to Etwall by 3 wickets after posting a competitive 206-5. Adam Poynton with 35 and Mark Cooper (37 not out) along with Dave Stock (66 not out) were the main contributors to the score.

Only Geoff Leedham made an impact when we bowled taking 4-65 but Etwall went past the totla with 7 wickets down.

The fourths was where the best story of the day was found as they were soon in trouble at 27-7. Dave Bridgen and Ted Shaw, at 8 and 9 respectively didn;t seem to bothered about the situation as they shared record 8 wicket partnership of 210 to take the score to 237-8.

Ticknall could not get anywhere near in reply but the we could not get the last wicket out and they finished on 109-9.
