Wednesday 2nd July V Ockbrook
A close encounter on a wet wicket, Ockbrook batting first in this 8 a side pairs competition.Ockbrooks first 3 pairs only added 7 runs between them thanks to some great bowling in particular from Jake Byrd, who took 3 wickets in an over, in a competition where 8 runs are lost every time the batting team lose a wicket. The last pair of Jack Ratcliffe and Tom Zydzienowski (if thats spelt wrong blame Steve Oliver I copied him) batted brilliantly adding 38 between them.
In reply Lullington paced their innings more evenly and despite losing silly wickets Ben Young's steady influence saw them home.
To proceed further in this competition the players need to stop giving away needless lives to the opposition
