The 1sts travelled to Duffied and on a batters paradise restricted the home side to 229-2, with there ozzie Kris Elliot getting 96 and Simms scoring 99.
In reply with a reshuffle to the batting order Tony Mudd at 3 scored 59 but without many other contributions in the toporder it was left to Danny Green at 7 to score 42 and Steve Gough at 8 to be there at the end with 42 not out. Seans Green attempt at the reverse sweep 2nd to last ball with 3 needed was a top effort and then 2 was scrambled off the last ball to earn a tie and 14 points.
These points keep us in 3rd place only 9 points behind 2nd place West Hallam but now only 2 points in front of Elvaston who visit the park next week.
The seconds at home to Swarkestone managed to win the toss as the skipper was 200 miles away could not contain Swarkestone who scored 256-8, with 125 coming off the last 12 overs.
This was always going to be a tall order and apart from Ryan Hetherington with 44 not out no one batted well and the hung on for a draw at 136-9.

The 3rds bowled Sawley out for 199 on West Park, Merv Timbrell with 4-56 and Geoff Leedham took 3-11.
A great team effort when it came to bat with 4 players scoring over 30, Merv Timbrell (38), Adam Poynton (34), Tom Poynton (49) and Ian Cooper with 30 saw the team home.
