Official Lullington Park CC
7th June - Official reports on Saturday s Games
Lullington Park slipped to a three wicket defeat in the penultimate over of
their Derbyshire County League Division One game at home to Staveley Welfare
but not without giving the North Derbyshire side a fight.

Park had made an all too familiar dismal start, slipping to 27 for four as
the lively Pete Camm made early in-roads, but the stylish Andy Goodwin was
ready to battle it out, and he provided an important turning point with a
hardworking innings of 37.

Danny Gough chipped in with 19, but then it was a superb, hard hitting,
fast-running 63 from Steve Gough that put the home side into a comfortable
position as the recovery continued. Ady Shales added a vital 22 as Park
reached 198-9 in their 50 overs.

Danny Gough and Dave Mudd each took an early wicket cheaply as this game of
fluctuating fortunes continued, but again, Pete Camm provided a stern test.
He added 37 and his brother Michael a vital 76 that put the visitors back on
course for victory after they had lost a couple of middle order men cheaply,
with all-rounder Goodwin returning 3-60.

Bullimore, 20, and May, 23, finished the job for Stavely, easing them home
at 199-7.

Park's seconds went down to local rivals Dunstall, in Division 3S, by four
wickets despite looking to be in a strong position as their hosts faltered
at 60-6 chasing a target of 179 to win, but Hall and Taylor powered them
home.

The visitors had Richard Jones driving well in a useful 35 and then a
powerful 31 from Danny Green, who was eclipsed by his 14 year old brother
Richard, scoring an impressive unbeaten half century. John Goodwin and Ryan
Hetherington pepped the score as Park reached 178-6, despited Stuart
Scrimshaw taking 3-51.

Liam Rollason claimed the scalp of Wallbank, caught by keeper Richard Green,
without a run on the board to give Park the perfect start. He collected a
further scalp, and Graham Boden claimed 4-33, but an unbroken 122 run stand
between Hall, 48, and Taylor, 60, took Dunstall to 182-6 and victory.

Park's thirds had Tom Chapman in sparkling form, making 94, and with Dave
Finch adding 29 along with 26 from Mervyn Timbrell, the home side posted
239, but Swarkestone went for the runs from the off. Fisher's century and 62
from Grieveson saw them take the points by six wickets.

Parks fourth lost their Division 7S game away to Elvaston by two wickets.
Ollie Baum, 37, Luke Carthy, 27, and skipper Ted Shaw with 24, provided the
bulk of their sides 122 all out, and then the home side struggled on a pitch
of dubious quality as spinners Sam Eaton, 3-27, and Alex Thompson, 2-25, had
them struggling before they eased to victory at 123-8.
