The skipper at last won a toss and sent Spondon 2s in on a dampish wicket, Liam struggling early on with the slope, bowling several no balls, at the other end Bodie was his usual steady self going for 30 odd in 12 overs, Colin replacing Liam again bowled really well getting lots of movement and taking 4 wickets, the only down side being a littering of no balls.
Adam Johnson replaced Bodie and took 3 wickets including an excellent stumping of the last ball by Richard Green to leave Spondon all out 172.
In reply we again got off to a poor start against the speedy Longdon and the probing Dash, Rich Jones & Goodwin hung about for a while before Jones received an unplayable ball, the skip was out with the score on 77 for 7 to a poor shot in the circumstances, leaving the game in the balance, however the 8th wicket put on a unbeaten stand of 72 by far the best of the match, Tom ending on 32no and Liam on 15 no giving us a undeserved 11 points
I feel the team needs to start pulling in the same direction and stop worrying about individual performances, we need to bat as a team and score far nearer 200 than we have managed so far and cut some of the unnecessary extras we are giving away in the field, we may then start to put some results together
