The under 15s season started with cup games for both sides. The A team away
at Alrewas and the B team at home to new comers Litchfield.
A side V Alrewas
The A team lost the toss and were put into bat on a damp pitch at Alrewas. A steady start saw a opening stand of 85 by Paul Dawson 37 and David Sock 36.
The fall of Dawsons wicket saw Richard Green to the crease and the run rate excellerated and when joined by Joe Eaton 23 a total of 171 was set.
Richard Green retiring on 50 of only 20 balls facedwith 13 scoring shots.
Alrewas reply never got started with new comer Bret Byrd,4-3, ripping through the top order, supported by Alex Thompson 2-1, Robert Beddard 1-0, hil Harris 1-0, Alrewas reached at total of only 23.
B side V Lichfield
In the Park the B team lossed the toss and were asked to bat, and a solid start by Ollie Baum 28 and Ben Furner 53 retired, supported by captain
Jason Bennett 25 and Luke Carthy 23 n.o.reacvhed a total of 157.Lichfields reply stared with the loss of opener Gabbilass in Jason Bennetts, 2-9, 1st over, only G. Massey 50 retired, putting up any resistance as James Allen,2-13, and Sean Shuttleworth 1-6 supported by Ben Furner 2-3 kept the away side to a total of 121.
A excellent start for both sides and we start the league season on Thursday with the A team at Dunstall and the B Team at home to Barton on a high note.
