A side V Dunstall
The Parks A side travelled to local rivals Dunstall in the 1st league
fixture of the new season. On winning the toss, the home side asked
Lullington to bat. A steady start bought a open partnership of 65 between
David Stock-22 and Paul Dawson 50 retired. When Stock eventually fell, it
bought Richard Green, 50 retired, to the crease who with Dawson played some
lavish shots and intelligent running took the Parks total to 167-2.
Dunstalls reply was steady until the intrduction of Joe Eaton 3-11 and Phil
Harris 4-15, supported by Robbie Beddard 1-5 ripped through the home sides
batting, reaching a final total of 89-8.
B side V Barton
The B side entertained Barton in what turned out to be closeer than the
score suggests. Barton winning the toss and asking Lullington to bat. Some
good bowling kept the score down to 76, with only Ben Furner 21 and Luke
Carthy 15 troubling the scorers. Bartons batsmen didnt have it all there own
way, being made to work for every run. Elain Beddard,0-3 being the pick off
the home sides bowling. .R. Payne 38 no and T.Rutter seeing the Barton side
home
