U15s report
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen After the heavy rains and Saturday night/ early hours Sunday morning just about all the pitches were affected in some way with water. We knew we would be in for a hard task against Chester given that we have had our casualties with the front row of late. Chester arrived with a more than ample squad of 25 players but at one point for us we thought we would struggle to make a team. Then the front row players started to arrive and things started to look up. As the Coaches were deciding who should play where we saw in the distance a familiar figure running towards us and to our delight it was Brodie Carson. Welcome back Brodie, we would like to see even more of you. With a full team we kicked off and held our own against Chester until they scored their first try. Not to be defeated that easily we responded with some fantastic determined Rugby. Everyone to a man played the best of his ability and at one point in the second half it looked like we might just hold out against Chester, however it was not to be. Chester brought on fresh legs and used the advantage to the maximum. Although we did not win everyone one of the team should take the positive aspects of the game away with them and build on this tremendous effort for the future . Well done everyone and lets keep this positive attitude up for the future. We shall see the results of your efforts very soon. Special recognition should go to Tom Skelly for volunteering to take up the position of prop without being asked showing a true team spirit. Brodie, you played exceptionally well as hooker, I don’t know what you have been doing but keep it up.I saw Brodie tackle I think it was their number 10, arriving from the side at speed with a fantastic tackle which I am sure the number 10 will remember for ever if he ever recovers. Matt Fry, what can I say? He just kept on going and going making tackles and fighting for the ball in the rucks and mauls. I had to leave early but I thought he was already man of the match with Brodie receiving the Coaches award. Very well done boys. I know I have probably missed someone and my apologies for that. Keep up the good work and remember training is Friday at 6.00.p.m with training kit and boots please. Training is now every Friday at 6.00.p.m The match this weekend is away at Helsby kick off 11.00 a. m. Everyone to be there for 10.00.a.m or sooner please. Anyone in need of an early morning call I am more than happy to oblige Regards Peter
