Hello everybody.
Now that Easter has finally gone and we get back to normal the Rugby season comes to an end. I think for some the season has already ended as we have seen a considerable fall off in numbers each week.
It has to be said that Dave Graham and myself cannot formulate any kind of strategy if we don’t know in advance who is and who is not turning up each week. Trying to put together a last minute training session with only a few players is not easy and I am sure we could all use our time more effectively if we knew in advance who is and who is not available.
The email I sent out last week regarding training received 3 replies. Without commitment Graham could not warrant the time on Wednesday to conduct a training session and so it was aborted.
Sunday wasn’t much better and again the scheduled training session could not take place. I have reluctantly had to cancel our forthcoming match against Stoke this weekend as too many players are not available.
It seems that there is an element of the squad who, for various reasons, cannot commit to the team and this is having an effect on everyone else. Therefore we all have to make some decisions if we are move forward next year. The question to answer is “do I want to play rugby at Macclesfield”?
If your answer is yes please can you let me know now and I will arrange for a signing on form for you.
If no can you please let me know out of courtesy.
I know this has been a difficult season and we have struggled at times. This has not been helped by the cancellation of so many games. Preparation for next season is key now but we can’t wait until September to start. We need to be ready for the new season which I am hoping will beguine with a Tour. However, we cannot arrange a Tour without a team and so we need your commitment now.
If you feel that you cannot commit to the team at this time we have no option but to presume you will not be available for the new season and make plans accordingly.
All the coaching staff are more than willing to continue training through the Summer to ensure the team are ready for the new season but only if there is sufficient interest.
I would be grateful therefore if you could all email me with your decision as soon as possible. If we are to have a tour I need to make plans now.
Training this week on Wednesday with Graham, can you let me know if you are available.

To mark the end of the season, we thought it would be a nice idea to watch the last game for the 1st VX team at home against Nuneaton .Tickets are free for those under 16.Again in your email to me let me know.
Also in the Summer I have a limited number of free tickets to see the Manchester Rugby 7’s Festival with Sale Shark’s and Ben Fodens 7 to name a couple. Let me know if you want a ticket
