Redcar won the toss and asked Hartlepool to bat on a very dry, dusty pitch at Park Drive.  The wicket was being used for the 5th consecutive match and the conditions made batting very difficult.  The umpires report graded the wicket as 2/5 because of the excessive spin. Redcar made full use of the conditions with the visitors pro collecting 6 for 24 as Hartlepool struggled throughout with Mohammed Zahid giving nothing away.  Marc Symington with 29 top scored for Hartlepool in an all out total of 98.

Hartlepool however decided that spin was also the best option and Mike Yuill with 5 for 35 and Marc Symington 4 for 41 almost pulling off a remarkable win.  Redcar however just got home with the last pair at the wicket to take the 20 points with Hartlepool picking up just 4 points.  The 16 points differential between the two teams doesn't reflect the closeness of the match but on this occasion Redcar just had enough to take the win in a low scoring affair.   Hartlepool v Redcar

The 2nd XI went to Wolviston knowing a good performance was needed as they try to maintain a promotion push in Division 2.  Earlier in the season Wolviston won at Park Drive and recent defeats for Hartlepool have put Wolviston and Norton in the top two places.  On this occasion half-centuries from skipper Peter Rhoden and Danny Shurmer were enough to see Hartlepool home in the last over.  Josh Cannon and Ollie Mole staying together to ensure Hartlepool picked up the 20 points with Wolviston collecting 7 points.  It looks as if the battle will go to the wire with hartlepool hoping they have put a bad spell behind them.  Wolviston v Hartlepool 2nds
