The Panthers started the game the strongest and where soon off the mark. Jamie Miller touching down after excellent work by man of the match, full back Rob Collins who has re found his hunger after losing his pizza hut partner of 2 years Nick McVeigh to New Zealand.
Dan Wooliscroft converted and the Panthers were 7-0 up and in control. Despite numerous attempts to go further ahead Panthers failed to capitalise.
They were made to pay for these missed opportunities as East Retford, playing ten man rugby finished the half the strongest. They equalised after good work by their forwards.

The Panthers started the second half in the same vein as the first. The hosts were soon under pressure with The Panthers back line causing them immense problems with Collins at the heart of everything that was good. .Again it was the backs who showed their superior quality, with Jamie Miller rounding off another good move, Wooliscroft converted.

The Panthers should have imposed themselves and increased the score, but stout defence and good work by their front five saw East Retford claw their way back into the game. By turning down 2 kickable penalties, the Panthers were made to pay as Retford scored a converted try and the game finished all square at 14 all.

This was a game Panthers could and should have won.
