Staplefords decision to bat 1st proved to be a bad one when Shane Matthews got his teeth into the top order. He has Wright caught behind for 6, Brear caught for 7 and Walker caught behind for 2. It took a stand of 68 between Adam Harchuk and Paul Fletcher to get Stapleford back on track. Harchuk got to 50 which included 7 fours and a 6 when a misunderstanding mid pitch cost him his wicket. Paul Fletcher went on to smash 81 which included 13 fours and a six. Stapleford reached 181-6 which was a good effort after a poor start. Shane Matthews finished with 3-51 from 14 overs. Tibshelfs reply got off to a woeful start as they were reduced to 9-5. Only really Shane Matthews (34) and wicketkeeper Wayne Kitchen (39) offered any resistance as Tibby were bowled out for 136 which was a good recovery. Paul Fletcher finished with 4-38 and Richard Swain 4-19.
