Duffield Teams Excel over the Weekend
7 wickets
Both the 1st and 2nd XI had superb results over the weekend in the league and cup. The U-13's also recorded their first win of the season against Little Eaton.

Duffield enjoyed a truly outstanding weekend in terms of results. On Saturday the 1st XI sensationally bowled out Spondon, who despite being 133-2 chasing 178 fell victim to the flight and guile of Richard Jordan and Ed Sims, as they were dismissed for 160. Meanwhile the 2nds were struggling to post a significant total, but Elvaston 3rd XI couldnt deal with Tony Mason or John White as they were skittled out for 75 chasing 110. Both sides managing to pick up 27 points. The 1st XI are now 18 points clear of the bottom two in Division One, and the seconds now have a clear lead at the top of Division 5 south with a game in hand.

In the cup on Sunday, again both teams batted first and managed to stop the opposition reaching the target. The 1st XI posted 207-8, with Kris Elliot scoring 72 of them, and in response Ticknall scored 207-9, in a thrilling finish, which meant Duffield progressed having lost fewer wickets. The 2nds also progressed having posted 211, with skipper Denis Saunders in the runs yet again, accompanied by Peter Turner and Dave Wood. But in response, Staveley could only manage 190.

So a great weekend, for the club. Full match reports will be online during the next couple of days. Lets keep it going lads.
