A busy and important weekend for the firsts turned out well as they collected 49 points from a possible 54 against the bottom two in 3 North. A good bowling and fielding performance saw them gain 27 against Darley Dale on Saturday whilst on Sunday some powerful hitting from the lower order saw them home to a 22 point victory against Heanor Town. The results finally saw the first team move out of the 4th place they have occupied in the division for the last 7 weeks and up into 2nd place behind Matlock. This sets up a very interesting clash this weekend at Sharley Park against a Chesterfield side that has been 2nd for a large part of the season. The news that 2nd place could gain promotion adds further incentive to the clash.

Unfortunately the 2nds and 3rds didn't do quite as well over the weekend. The 2nds were unable to score enough runs to overturn Denby's total on Saturday whilst a depleted 3rd team lost at home to Ashfield on Sunday.
