Hello All,

After deliberating over the past thee years about having a tour i am willing to organise a tour for the summer holidays next year. Depending on Centenary celebrations i am proposing that we go at the start of the summer holidays. We shall have a tour meeting sometime in august for those who have expressed an interest.

My vision, is that it would be somewhere on the south coast, probably Devon. I would then suggest that we pick a town or citythen decide upon our collective or solo accomodation. Some families might hire a cottage, a swanky apartment, a b+b, a travel lodge, a caravan or whatever takes your fancy. If we have the numbers then people can dip in and out of games and evening outs...whatever takes the individual's fancy. What i would probably do is take a deposit / payment to cover T's, tour shirts, tour bus, umpires etc...but i wouldn't envisage that to be over £40. It will give a level of commitement, however if we organise accomodation centrally then it would go up. Ok, talk amongst yourselves, talk to me, have idea's, put them on this forum.........and i shall keep ya in the loop. All i would ask if you could expess and interest by posting on this threat. I look forward to hearing your views...

Well looks like JimmyB, Evo6 and Myself shall have a lovely trip down the south coast and maybe challenge some blokes on the beach to a game of cricket. I know that there are more people interested than that. This might get the imagination going, it was mentioned that the tour should be Men only. Please add your views on the matter on this forum, or is there really not that much interest.....

Hey we've got an all star line-up already!!!! Those beaches won't know what hit'em!!! And as for the latter comment about all blokes i would love to offer whole hearted support!! but... since i don't wanna be challenged by 20 bat wielding women i decline!!!

All in all a pretty unimportant reply but atleast i'm showing interest!!:oP

Cricket tour?? sounds great!!......i know its no devon but the chester cricket tour is suposed to be a cracker!! i know for a fact that the chester hockey edition is just that. it envolves three nights in a tent though. just somethin to think about, atleast im showing an interest.;-)
ps. only a select few will now who i am. the evans brothers, hakeman and the i said looked like adam lidiard will now me as the weird drunk who found them in the stable bar.:-) the rest,,, which only really includes the third team will now me as their new bowler:-D

Would this be the said drunk that was sporting the Bridgnorth T-shirt and declined from drinking the pint that was brought for him....tut...tut...you have a lot to learn before you become a true 'hamleter' my friend:-!

First of all.......bambi in for tour!!

Secondly (this is gonna sound very diplomatic)......i am not to fussed on whether it is an all male or familly based tour! Maybe a combination of both could work........the problem that we have making it male only is the fact it is for our centenary year and we dont really wanna exclude club members! However an all blokes event could provide some memorable stories!!!

Finally camping is not an option for me........i also think i will know of a few others who would decline if given the option of a travellodge, the south coast and possibility of a beach!!!

Well at least we are getting a bit of action back on the forum : welcome back. In regards to the comments, Glyn its Mr Hakeman to you or sir will suffice. Bambi, read your post n not really sure what you have said, in / out / in / out u do the ockey....make sure you day get splinters sitting on the fence. Pros, we i'm asuming thats you, or could it be Kenny? Either way, it's another to the crew.

To summerise :- Evo, Jimmy B, Bogle, Bambi?, Super Bobie Taylor and my goodself. We can now enter the Sixes......have we got any more? The bowling is looking a little light...

Nathan, im awfully sorry but i will not be calling u Mr Hakeman or Sir! (deal with it):oD so Nathan will be adequately suffice! Dont understand what evre1 has against camping though? is it not a thing Hamleters have much experience of? as for the bowling being a little light with me an Jimmy B in the attack its as denser attack as u could hope for. and by dense i dont mean stupid!:oD GD Day,

Well im shocked and offended i'll have you know i way alittle over 14 stone!!!

Anyway my point after that appalling interlude!!! My first is that you Nath should be more worried about the wicket keeping!!!! If the bowling truly is as bad as you make out then your gonna need to work alittle harder. Although from the sounds of the first bowl out result your pretty used to it. A curious note on that subject if only two people in the first team managed to hit the stumps then why is it that only two third teamers turned up to nets?!

Secondly I'm alittle confused as to why your trying to find fault in a clearly invincible side. Since you have clearly elected yourself as captain/tour guide then it is your job to motivate your team!!!

To start with Nath there is nothing wrong with sitting on the fence until everyone else has had their say.......admittedly it takes longer for things to get done but does allow for all options to be considered!!

I must admit it is nice to see some action on the forum, keeps us interested during the day! I also think glyn is underestimating evo's bowling action....think we would do ok!!

Finally i think we have come to a conclusion that camping is not an option full stop!
