Who has picked this side ? Jason Norman should not be on the bench we'll end up loosing him like we have Moffy.

If the excuse is we are sticking with the winning team why didnt we play the same team that beat oldboys the week later ! forexample jeff , lewy and kev should have all been on the bench with pape and mushy starting for the 1st game of the season.

We seem to be getting some where and the selection again mess things up.

You know, I class Jason and Moffy as friends, But ffs, to spit your dummy out 2 weeks into the new season is fucking ridiculous.

Regardless of whatever reasons they have had for leaving at least show some fucking backbone and fight for your place.

It is disappointing if players choose to move away from the club.

I spent several seasons not being 1st choice as prop and was disappointed that I never played in the same front row as Maso at Seaton during all his years here.

However, I stayed and fought for my place and I was rewarded in the end and had a good run as first choice prop before my catalogue of injuries.

Rugby is a social sport and it cant just be about the rugby, it has to be about the full package of playing with people you can go out for a pint with and have a laugh about performances or dress sense.

I hope that the selection committee is picking the best team as that is the only way you can continue to progress as a club, but there must be some consideration given to players who train regularly and players who step in to play games due to injury or absences, especially if they play well.

A case in point years ago was when regular 2nd team player Sim Parker played in the first team and was given man of the match only to be relegated to the 2nd team a week later, that decision made no sense then as it still doesnt now. If this was to thank him for stepping up then it should have been done in a different way.

I hope that Moffy and Jason can be persuaded that there is a future at SCRUF and that teams only progress with a squad of players not just a basic team.

In view of bad injuries last year to Kit-Kat, Tummers, Vince and Tanks retirement. It is easy to see how a powerful team can be decimated by some bad luck.

Anyway, enough of my ravings. I am sure the many coaches and captain are in contact with these players and doing their best to keep Seaton strong.

Sorry lads but after a recent conversation with Billy ive found it too hard to stay at Seaton! I admit i have spat my dummy out. But the reasons i was giving for being dropped were terrible. I was told it was because i didnt play the week before due to me being ill and mushy and ado played well and didnt deserve to be dropped. I think its a fair point but however if thats the case why didnt cooper hook this week instead of Chrissy? and why did Lewis Jeff and Kev walk back into side after a fantastic win over old boys? This debate has always been brought up and i think to start dropping players for missing a game when we are in the strongest position we have ever been in and to risk loosing 2 points is a totally weak descion. The main thing that bothers me is the fact that i cudnt play due to illness last week in a freindly!!!!!!!!!!! and as a result of this the unbeaton record the team and me has worked so hard for is under threat and ther is nothing i can do about it on the sidelines and i am so proud of that record and gave it everything in games against Blyth and Bishop to defend by scoring 5 trys in those games and all this could be lost by another selction mistake.

I wish the team all the best and hope you push for promotion and do very well.

Jason Norman

Jason this is a real sore pint for me . In my eyes you are a traitor and you have gone over to the dark side . You did the exact same thing 2 seasons ago at tech you went to a higher levelled club, howevere you played in a team that got smashed every week.

You told me that you want to be a well known player in the town, for good reasons.

If you are as good as you think you are why didnt you try west or rovers.

Alot of lads want seaton to be up in the higher league, and they looked to you to help them get there and you have let them all down.

If selection have made a mistake or not you have shown your true colours. Im not going to say good luck because you have dropped all our lads in it, so why should we wish you good luck ? Its like Sol campbell leaving spurs for arsenal.

Well done Jason for coming on and been man enough to leave some reason for leaving, a few before you haven't had the bottle. But i'm sorry i think your reasons are weak and very disappointing to a squad who took you back last season when you did the same the season before.

There is more than 1 person on selection and i'm sure there will have been much debate before it went down to a vote, isn't that what selection is all about. People give up there own time to do selection, some times they have to make harsh decisions which sometimes they get it right and some times they get it wrong were the individuals involved feel very badly done by. Maybe they are and maybe there not, but its never the end of the world.

In my 20 some thing years playing rugby at the club i've see many people get dropped, all feel hard done by including myself. But normally they come back an even stronger player because they have things to prove and i'm sure at some point you would of had a part to play in the game tomorrow because who knows what is going to happen.

I'm sure some one will step straight in and fill the hole you have left maybe not with the same style of play as yours but with there own style which i'm sure will be just as good because as much as people might think, its never one person that wins a game but the effort of the squad.

I normally wouldn't bother commenting about things like this but it winds me right up the way people just walk away over the last few years for the trival of things. The club is always bigger than any of us.

I'm sure the debate on what has happened will go on and on, well at least for one or two weeks anyway. With people pointing the fingers here and there, but at the end of the day its been jasons decision to leave, he's only made it easier for some one else to step in to the squad and prove there selves.

It doesn't realy matter what club in the town you go to, it's not playing for us.

Anyway good luck tomorrow lads, i'm sure if the team keeps playing the way they have been over the last few weeks another win is on the cards.............

Tank

Please keep your opinions to yourself and not air them online please.
You are a member of the coaching team now (although not selection panel) so let Jason have his say and bite your tongue.

I've known and played with Jason for since the begining of secondary school in 1998! The one thing i've found with Jason and I agree with Stella Pest that he certainly isn't a traitor, in this instance, I believe he is simply being realistic.

Old Boys are in the stage of rebuilding again and adding players with the quality of Brian Foreman and Jason Norman is certainly going to help us in the long run. Obviously yourselves loosing a quality player will hurt and this would explain alot of the bitterness and name calling on here, It is certainly our gain and most likely confirming Jasons decision to leave which i'm sure the majority will agree.

I think Jason has done an admirable thing in coming on giving his reasons, people may believe that they are weak, others like myself may not and believe they are valid reasons which obviously upset him alot! Bottom line everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Good result today by the way and good luck for the rest of the season.

P.S - Hartlepool Old Boys the dark side!? - Rovers are the dark side gents.. We have the best floodlight pitch in the town. Certainly no Darkness over at Gods Allotment.

Jim Greensmith.
