It may not be a case of lack of ambition or self confidence to do well at a higher level with another club in the town. Id say that its more a case of the lads in d/n 3 playing for the clubs they love and wanting to play at and get to a higher level with their clubs. Thats definately the case at old boys, and no doubt seaton, bbob, ath etc.

Spot on Lester. And anyhow is it not the case that all clubs in the town are playing social rugby. Not wanting to cause a seperate debate like, but none of us are going to be playing Premiership rugby in the near future are we.

You're correct - noone will be playing Prem rugby, but that doesn't stop some lads wanting to better themselves.

I for one can understand why some lads want to tenst their metel at a higher level. For many it means they don't look back on the 10-15 years they played rugby and regret not having a punt at another clu further up the ladder. I suppose its about what you want out of the game.

Then again I suppose we all play the game for the social side as well.

Jimmy - perhaps at some point later in the season, what with free weeks etc there may be a game between Rovers and Old Boys? I certainly remeber similar games being organised between town clubs in the past.
