Did anyone see the thread on Rovers site with regards no one from DN3 being good enough to play for them.What do you think?Personally I think there are a number of good players in this town never mind the rest of DN3 who are as good as/better than Rovers already have.By the way this thread happened just after Disco had gone back to Rovers from DN3

I personnally think that Old Boys backline would compete at that level (North 2 East)..

Certainly 2 or 3 of the Ath back line and a few forwards could.Wont mention names like u never know whos reading this.Mind I think Dan Charlton,Keith Grazier and Peter Storey amongst other seaton players could.LOL.;-)

FOR ME kARL JOHNSON.PHIL PURDY,KEGSY,IN THE BACKS AND JIMMY KNIGHT,MARK ALLISON ,STE METCALFE FROM THE THE FORWARDS,, COULD DEFO MAKE THE GRADE.(THE ATH BYE THE WAY).CANT COMMENT ON SEATON COS HAVENT REALLY SEEN THEM PLAY SORRY LADS.WHAT ABOUT BBOB WHO DO YOU THINK COULD MAKE IT ????

I think you are forgeting 2 players who have both played quiet a high standard Lewis Humble played for the Army u21s and the combined services and army A.And anth Raynor (Tank) played for the navy u21s and the navy.and didnt Lewis play for rovers 1st team so yes there are plenty of players capable of that super level.

Seams Dreamers is trying to be a tad sarcastic,any real Rover would be honest enough to admit that they are not at the top of there game at the moment and would benefit greatly from the addition of any of the aforementioned players.Not that I want any of the lads leaving like.Anyhow heres looking forward to next weeks game.

Geezer.. your forgetting Howie, Hindsy, Browny and Frankie Coulson who'd all do a very good job in North East 2, probabley excel to be honest..Even Sully, who played for London Irish 2nds is no slouch..

You don't have to be a genius to work out that Coulson and Brown could play at a much higher level given that they were playing national league rugby last season.

I won't criticise anyone playing rugby for any team in teh town but it seems you underestimate the step up in the leauges. For example - Rovers seconds regulalrly play the Ath and BBOB. They're always good games but Rovers usually win. That second team conatains very few who are good enough to play in our first team. The gap is massive.

Players at Rovers and West not only have to be good rugby players - they need to be a lot fitter to handle the pace of the game.

I'm sure anyone who fancies their chances will be made welcome at Rovers - just like Humble was the season before last.

Roverite or is it rovermong if the standard is tha tmuch differant can you please answer why rovers rang up bondy on boxing day morning asking him if he would play for rovers against west and he wasn't even playing for 1sts old boys ??????

Bond is a fine player who would probably do very well at a higfher level - as he has done in the past. Being short in the backs that day thats why Rovers asked him to guest. I'm a bit sceptical that you seem to suggest Bond was ommitted from Old Boys because he couldn't get a place?

It appears that you think I'm trying to belittle the efforts of the lads who play in the lower leagues. I can assure you I'm not. The fact remains though that the standard of N2E is higher than in the lower leagues in the same way that National League rugby is better than N2E.

Again - I'm sure anyone who fancies theri chances at getting a first team place at Rovers would be made welcome at training.

the point of the matter is that if these people think they can play at that level then its for them to deside and to try it there self or mqabey there just enjoying the social side of rugby, from what i have seen of clubs in the town this season i would say seaton and bbob are playing with very young teams that need to devolpe with a team age avrage of around 23 all that said why not just let these team play the game thery wanna play
