Official Seaton Carew RUFC

Home game on Saturday against Ipe Johnson's Invitation XV. The game is to mark Ipe's premature retirement from the game due to his lack of scoring. RFU rules say that if you haven't scored a try in over 25 years then you might as well hang your boots up.

The seconds have been challenged to play Ipe's Invitation XV. KO is 3.00pm. The Invitation XV will be a who's who of Seaton legends past and present.

I need to know people's availability as soon as possible. It's an honour to be included in this game so don't miss out and get your name down early.

You seem to forget we all started off as second team players! Why can't players who have played 1st team rugby come and have a game and give Ipe the send off he deserves? Just remember we are all from the same club why segregate 1st and 2nd team players?

Just for clarity. The second team will be made up by as many current second teamers who can turn out. There is a very good reason for this and rather than start a long thread of argumentative emails I'm willing to bore anyone who buys me a pint on Saturday with the details. It's something to do with not being so hard on the old men like Super farmo.

Others who are available and who came through the ranks and have played with Ipe at one time or another either on the firsts or seconds will be invited to play on the Invitation XV.

This is a fun game and everyone who turns out will play. If we have more than 30 players it will be rolling subs with people able to come on and off at any time.
