looks bad but next lot of games are against Long Eaton, Sleaford & Ashfield- home & away in the league, who are basically our kind of standard so hopefully 6 out of 6 wins.

there ya go i wasnt far out apart from the mansfield one! thought we'd scored more tries than that to be honest.

anyway we beat ashfield away 15-0 last week & drew with west. bridgford 12-12 yesterday at home- robbed!
ahh well hopefully we'll beat sleaford this time on sunday (we should have last time, and would have but for some crazy refereeing) and then beat west.bridgford in the quarter finals, which looks very do-able after we bossed them on sunday and we're almost there!

just read the report by that derby bloke, what a tosser! we held our own piece o piss that match they were no nottingham & none of their dissallowed 'tries' were wrongly disallowed either. if anything 39-5 was harsh on us because i remember being in their 22 for ages!

ah well, maybe we should do some match reports of our own then!

hangovers can also have as big of an effect. nah s'al excuses, excuses although i definitely think we can beat them on our day.

last couple of results lost to sleaford 24-17. and beat long eaton 0-54, game stopped with 20 minutes left.

You may be interested to know that Ashfield lost to Sleaford 10-53 on the same weekend.

where do you find all your stuff out from woll man is there a link on the net with the leagues or anything? we have ashfield this weekend so hopefully we can kill them off like sleaford did. we only beat them at there place i think 15-0, can only think ashfield were struggling for numbers or something because sleaford arent that good.

Nothing online afaik - the NLD site is as much use as a f4rt in a spacesuit.:oD I just do my research elsewhere and ask the people with that info. My source had your game against LE stopped with only 5 or so minutes though rather than 20(?); but with an identical scoring pattern.

I wouldn't diss' the Slea lads though, as they have now won 5 of their last 6 and are a quick and mobile unit, in most areas. You'd be wise to give them a little more respect; Newark have.

News from Long Eaton was that Sleaford had the bonus point in the bag in 12 mins; and the match stopped for league purposes with 18 minutes to spare at 52-0, this having switched off some for the first 15 mins of the second half. The game continued and finished 78-0 in Sleaford's favour.

In the other group it looks very much as it's down to Kesteven and West Bridgford to decide who finishes 1st and 2nd with Kesteven ending Matlock's chances; beating them for the second time; this time 31-7, running in 5 tries to 1.

Bridgford though have a game in hand over Kesteven, both teams meeting on the 4th Feb to possibly settle who finishes top spot. If K win then they cannot be caught, whereas as WB win will mean they need to beat Matlock well to overcome an inferior points difference at least.

surprised that they played on. the game was stopped at 54-0 against us and that was it. fair play to the lads that turn out for long eaton though, there would probably have only been about 13 of them.

i'm not dissing the sleaford lads at all. just when i saw they beat ashfield 53-10 after we only beat them 15-0 i thought there had to be something up as i know sleaford aren't that much better than us. and as it turned out ashfield only had 14 men against us today and it was probably a similar situation when they played sleaford last weekend or worse. sleaford are a good side and play to there strengths, they have a good kicker and unfortunately for me, are good on line-outs too... they've beaten us twice this year home & away by 1 try so hopefully 3rd time lucky if we meet them again.

but anyway we won 34-0 against ashfield today, 2 clean sheets in a row which is good. still could have done a lot better, stupid mistakes at times, greedyness and double movements when we were right on their try line. if we'd been playing somebody better and made them mistakes they would have been punished.

so what happens then woll man. there are 2 groups, one has retford, sleaford, long eaton and ashfield, the other has kesteven, west.bridgord, matlock and someone else. 1st in our group (looking like sleaford) is home to 2nd in theres (probably west.bridgford) 2nd in ours (probably us) away at 1st in theres (kesteven)?

According to the team sheet LE had a full side +, and as you say full credit to them for playing on after the league result (52-0) was attained.

Checking back, Ashfield fielded 14 in the match against Sleaford as well.

"What happens next?"
It's more or less as you thought. Winners Group A v Runners-up Group B and vice versa. Both semi's are at Sleaford on March 18 ( Plate Semi's day for all age groups). Final to be held at Derby on April 22.

Wisbech pulled out of the other group having played one and winning narrowly against West Bridgford. Matlock are out of the hunt as previously mentioned. Kesteven are looking ominous but word is they are not as strong as last year.

so a lot rides on our final group game away at sleaford february 18th then. as i dont think either would fancy playing kesteven in the semi-finals judging by their result against west.bridgford, who scraped a draw in the last minute at our place.

ahh well, we'll have to wait and see, if we can get all our lads to make the trip to sleaford, full pack- full back line, neutral referee (unlike the friendly at theres last time) i have no doubts that we'll beat them and if we dont then there will be no excuses from me. they seem to have become our new 'worksop.'

Apparently we got deducted 2 points against Ashfield for not having that pointless orange fence up? Long Eaton didnt turn up because they couldnt get a front 5 together so I presume we get given the game 50-0. Do you know how Sleaford got on against Ashfield woll man and what we have to do to finish 1st?
