The all important AGM will be held at The New Inn, Winsick (near Hasland) on the 15th January (a Thursday)

You should all get notification from the Committee and I think it starts at 7pm

There is a bar (obviously as it is a pub) and I assume we'll have the small upstairs function room

Please try & attend. It won't be the most exciting night of 2009 but we have a lot of important thinks to discuss & decide upon.

hey mr plant is the location of the meeting anywhere near where you live by any chance(so you can stumble home)

Special mention for teas for next year. These cost us an absolute fortune last year & we made a huge loss. We are looking at the meeting for ideas &/or volunteers for what to do next year at the AGM. We are just about sorted for the 2nds with Planty & Bravo ensyring their selection by volunteering to prepare the teas.
We still need some ideas for 1st & 2nd teams. The teas prepared by Bravo & Planty for the Sunday non league games were good & we made a bit of money so any volunteers would be appreciated.

30/40 quid in Tesco gets lots of snap, just then needs preparing which you can do at the ground and takes about an hour, could have a rota in place?

Might have a problem when 2 teams at home with space to prepare things/store things till tea time

then make a club rule that a player doing teas does not pay subs the day they do the teas (they would obviously also be reimbursed for the cost of the food)

therefore if £40 is spent on food, the tea costs us £50 which means a profit instead of a loss every week!

Other ideas would be if anyone has a wife/girlfriend/boyfriend willing to do the teas every week - I'd suggest that we offer a payment of £20 on top of a food budget of £40 if we took this route - this way someone could buy the food, prepare at home and bring up before tea, would £20 entice anyone to do it

also have we told the current tea team we can't afford their prices yet, you never know, when they are faced with losing easy Saturday business, their prices might drop dramatically

Me and Han helped Clarke out a couple of seasons back under the old format of £50 budget for teas and you got to keep the rest i think it was. Using Tesco value stuff or Morrisons Bettabuy stuff is easy to get plenty of food and still make a bit.

And before people starting getting snobby about Tesco Value and Morrisons Bettabuy stuff my cousin works for Morrisons and told me that its the same quality as most of the other stuff in terms of ingredients etc but its normally the stuff that doesnt look quite right etc so is perfectly fine to eat. We normally managed to rustle up 4 or 5 different sarnie options, pizzas, crisps, bowls of pasta on the odd occasion and then pudding options.

Personally i wouldnt be to bothered about a rota where people do a week and in general you shouldnt have to do more than one as there are 11 home games for teams.

value stuff is fine fact as it was used for the subday friendlies. most the teas cost me were £30 and that was the week i bought sauces, butter and stuff to be used over several weeks.

and planty when we had our last meeting in the pavillion and i volunteered you also said you wouldnt mind doing it if required. too much ale affecting your grey matter :oD

Without wanting to sound negative or mardy or anything I personally would be against a rota system because I dont think it would work.

Just using the first team as an example - Certain players you wouldnt expect to make the teas due thier role in the club. e.g. Ramesh (overseas), Sunil (Club Pro) and Paritosh (Travels from Coventry or wherever on a saturday morning).

Your down to 8 players now - but then take out the juniors Lemon Jnr and Zander as you cant really expect those to do a big shop before a game etc.

Which then leaves 6 - Greaves, Hartley, Branson, Greenhalgh, Lemon Snr & Fletcher who are the only realistic people in my opinion who could do this and I feel this is slightly unfair if they have to do more than 2 games a season.

The 2nds and 3rds will also have similar problems due to the amount of juniors in each team etc.

Feel free to shoot me down in flames and come up with alternatives etc and i'm not trying to be funny or chuck spanners in the works but it's worth thinking about.

Not going to shoot you down Greavsie cos I think you are right but its the club member's decision not mine. All I can say is that we can't do what we did last year.

still don't see why we have to provide teas anyway, I'd get rid of them altogether if I was in charge of the league
