Good work to get things on the move! What more do we know about him?

Was he the one with Shepley CC in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership in 2008 who in their season review commented:

"But the inconsistency and, once again, a disappointing contribution from an overseas player, meant we could not make the hoped-for progress as a team".

29 wkts and 159 runs to add to a few months spent at Quatt CC in 2007.

Hope he reads this website that will really make him love us!! Don't forget he has played Premier League cricket at his other teams. SE has spoken to both the clubs mentioned & they have given a glowing reference both as a cricketer &, just as importantly, as a person.

I merely did what Steve invited us to do and 'google' the guy. Fellow 'googlers' will no doubt have come across the same info.

Will he not love us for quoting something another club said about him?

I've no doubts that Steve E has done plenty of research and that given the circumstances the club is confident that this is the right option. Therefore an opportunity for the player to prove any doubters wrong.

ps does he fancy a game of football this weekend?

More importantly....is he free for midweek cricket next season?

I never thought I would see the day when Steptoe was described as wide. You have made my afternoon.

re overseas, nothing is 'sorted' yet, and dont forget to take into account wat he is costing us, ie sweet fanny adams(not even air-fare). he is the 1st one that we have been able to 'afford' and that fits the bill. there are others that r being looked at, but he is the first that has agreed to our terms. b4 anything will be decided, i guess the commitee and 1st teamers will av a little get together and decided which one we will choose. looking at his stats, i guess they dont look that impressive, but like chief said, that is for the huddesfield prem, and according to chiggy, that is as strong if not stronger than our prem, so one wud expect him to do better in a lower standard.
having spoke to 3 different agents, they cud all get us a top quality overseas, ie bin nasir, asad ali etc etc, but do to new ecb/government regs., registed first class players can only come over if they will be guaranteed a min wage of £225 per week, then of course there will be air-fare, accomodation etc on top, and of course cccc will never be in that situation.
any overseas is a bit of a risk wen u either dont know them or have never seen them. i have spoke in detail to his previous clubs and both have given a good reference, but dont worry, nothing has been finalised yet and i still have a few more to consider.

here are the other 3 candidates for u all to look at/moan at/ compare stats etc etc.

farheem suleman(south african)
matthew smyth(south african) (his brother played at stainsby last season)
romain grenville(west indian)- beware all WAGS!!!

between these 3 and old ramesh.

nice to hear from u ramesh, u will get plenty of banter at the 'cross' and will be a welcome addition to our side. wat kind of car do u want, merc, bmw, ferrari.

look forward to seeing u. keep ur eye on message board for latest club gossip.

ASBO Riggot has nicked the Ferrari & torched the other 2 so we could be stuck with an Austin Allegro.
Good to here from you Ramesh although the Chelsea bit is slightly worrying. Banter is compulsory at Clay Cross especially against Planty. We also have 4 or 5 older regular supporters who will give you plenty of "advice"

Noticed on Facebook that you are friends with Nigel Mallender from Morton CC.

Greabo ... there'll be much chalk on the boots as I stand awaiting a pass from a fellow Cross team-mate!

Look what's happened .... a bit of research, a few comments and the overseas lad is already getting his feet under the table. Welcome!
