dont worry chief, i will be one of the very few who will be wearing 'proper studs' and i will be filing them prior to kick off. and although i will be playing in goal, i WILL BE making the odd rampage up the field, and i WILL make a bee-line for the afore mention player.

Can I pencil you into the squad? I'm a bit abreft of staff!

i am running a bit of a sweep stake on 1st goal scorer. its £2 per head and will include starting 22, minus goal keepers(i do how ever fancy getting one in the riggin 2morow). there will obviously be £40 in pot, winner will get £20 and £20 to club. there will also be man of match awards for both teams- judged by the ref. - if we have one!!!

PS i dont have any shinpads so can any of the guardian readers please bring their colour suppliments as these will do.

as i have not played for a while can we clarify if slide tackles from behind and two footed tackles are reds, yellow or just a telling off.

am very disappointed to hear from chief that roughing and cross checking are not allowed.
