Clay Cross X1 v Sir James Carley X1

We are trying to sort a football match between a Clay Cross CC X1 and a Jim Carley Select X1 to be played on the pitch at the back of the pavillion.

Having spoke to his lordship yesterday we agreed that the game would be better to be held on a saturday afternoon sometime between now and early December.
There will be drinks afterwards in the pavillion (not sure about food yet) and a football card etc to raise some cash for the club.

I'm sure we can get a bit of a squad together and make something out of this. So if anybody is interested please let me know.

Grez,
Is the bar well stocked if this was to go ahead?

Ive already spoke to John Else to get the all clear from the council. Nets and corner flags etc will be borrowed from our sunday team!

Depending on the date i should be available.

Still dont think you need to go speaking to the council to get clearance to use the pitch...they will only charge us!! We'll be fine to play on it just by turning up and sticking the nets up!!

Iv'e told Mr Else to check with the council to make sure nobody plays there saturday afternoons Jon. We are going to look a right set of tools if we turn up on a day we have set and theres a game being played already.

I'm happy to hand the organising over to you if you think you can do a better job!

Easy tiger....put your handbag away!! Why didnt you just say that in the first place!!

Off the top of my head dont think there are any saturday sides left playing out of the cross and if there is they will play on that other pitch with the little stand down the side.

Elsey,

You can play in nets for me mate! From my reckogning Sven Goran will have 3 keepers at his disposal with Kipper, Drillbit and yourself but seeing as we will need paramedics on standby if you play outfield I think you are favourite for the job!
:oP

Oh yeah, looks like Sven Goran has 4 keepers to pick from!! I was rather hoping Mr Sullivan would play outfield though if he makes himself available!!

Sven, are you Greeny in disguise?

Presume this means Gascoigne in his present state rather than in his prime.

Greabo ... to be available for selection one pair of size 11 boots are required.

None of the fancy modern stuff, require 4 studs at the front and 2 at the back with proper nails securing them! Got any in the attic Chief?
