depends if

a) missus will take jack to something she has no interest in and doesnt want to go to on her own.
b) a suitable babysitter can be found for jnr jnr bravo.
c) the hassle of trying to argue (arrange) the above is worth the overall effort as not much interest has been shown so far for our event as usual.

and before branno starts about not many people reading the website i would assume chief has not been overun with text replies to the request either otherwise he wouldnt be asking on here. so i am faced with a choice of attending something for the benefit of my son which will be supported by his entire club or make the effort to attend an event where it seems people have to be harassed by the organisers to make the efforrt to attend as usual.

firstly, what text message from Chief?!!? I received a letter through the post from Else snr yesterday but not had any text message from anyone. You can only reply to something that you get!! I see Ste E has sent something but i suspect thats just to some of the second teamers....that leaves a lot of others that wont have had a text or seen this and will have received the letter from John yesterday and just found out about it. Hopefully over the next few days they will be contacting John, Graham or Tash to book themselves in.

Also as Planty says it was a pretty healthy turnout last season and after an arguably more successful season this year it should be no different.

sorry text from else. cant comment on firsts and thirds. my letter was received last week so i think however you call it everyone should have been contacted by now. by text, letter, carrier pigeon or smoke signal. its obviously worry that 4 weeks before the do and chief is asking if people are atttending. that says to me people have not got back to him.

Having spoken with Planty it appears the text is from Ste and only went to second teamers he had numbers for.

In terms of the letter i was contacted by John Else for my address at the beginning of the week and received the letter yesterday. I suspect you are right that most will have been contacted somehow by now but it may only have been in the last couple of days so they will need a chance to get themselves sorted and then contact to say they are attending. Hopefully the responses will start flooding in now.

Also the letter states to contact Chief, John or Tash so all three of them could be getting bookings so Chief may not have the full picture to hand.

Unfortunately the carrier pigeons are no more as they need to be well hung before they go into the presentation night pies & the wood for the smoke signal fires has been nicked for the annual Danesmoor bonfire night party. I have now had a number of responses , mostly via the captains. I am now more confident of a good turnout.

We answered Steve's text and want four tickets. Have spoken to a few U13 parents and it seems they all want to attend but it wasn't clear on the letter how you could pay for tickets.

Do you want cheques through post? Do we pay on the night? If I know then I can start to tell them and we might get some firm bookings.

Would prefer cheques sent to John Else made payable to Clay Cross Cricket Club as if we allow people to pay on the night we lose out if they don't turn up & payment in advance is more of a commitment. ( we also need to pay for room hire, food & racenight man in advance)
