I'm sure most of you know, Mr Branson and myself kind of run a midweek side that plays their home games at The Cross

It's a bit of a laugh and is actually decent practice so if anyone fancies a game then please let either Jon or myself know

FFS season not even starting yey and the message board is being hi jacked by the mid w4nk league mafia.

You're not good enough for Midweek League anyway Bravo. Even a player like me ended up at no11 on my one appearance last year with Inziman Al Plant as Captain.

Same here Planty, love to play (not to sure my turn of speed and Mr Gibbs like batting would be truely inspirational) but alas I am not here. Gud luk though!

no then one might see this as a quaint bijou property with scope for improvement.

1) studio = 1 room bedsit
2) ideal for first time buyer = small dump slightly less expensive than small bijou property.
3) scope for improvement = dump that is not condemned
4) ideal buy to let = you wouldnt want to live in it so cram in 10 students and get rich
5) close to commuter routes = its wedged between the main london to leeds train line and built under an underpass
6) please views to countryside = watch the doggers from your living room in an evening.

some of us (unlike Branno!) have to work whilst we are at work! So haven't got the time to mess around on the interweb!

Re the above bravo - not a lot I can disagree with there pal!! Particularly the definitions. I must remember not to mention the views overlooking the dogging sites!

On a different note, bit of a catch 22 situation nets is turning out to be. Shouldn't complain about so many people being there but being only able to bat for 5 mins is comical. Rotation won't work either as people will only turn up for there batting week.

As Plant man said last night, in my day the seniors batted first and the kids scratched around at the end. I understand that everyone has paid there money so everyone should get equal time and opportunity but last night was a bit of a joke.

Plus a certain lad roles up with daddy sunil last night, apparently leaving the mighty cross, doesn't pay and bats! Pleeeease explain how this happened someone. I know I am leaving but at least I turn up to help the kids before hand and pay. Next week I happy to bat last if there is time as I am not playing at cross next year...perhaps someone else should pay and do the same???!!!

I was'nt there last night but he has paid every other week.
Re nets we are victims of our own success here. I previous years we have had nights when only 6 or 7 turn up & then you might bat longer but you get crap bowlers like me bowling at you & then even Ashover players would be welcome.This year people who attend 1 or 2 nets usually have been coming every week & even those who normally hibernate until June have been coming.
We can't have the kids on at the end becuse to expect them to be there until 10.00 on a week night is'nt going to work.Tupton is a good venue but unfortunately it has very limited availability. It was felt that we could live with this as it is a better facility than Cricketal.
On a different note I am sorry to see you go despite my regular comments about SSBs. Your shock at seeing Dennis Skinner at the annual dinner when you were more used to seeing the likes of members of the aristocracy & other useless parasites at similar events will remain a great memory to me especially the shock when you realised he actually ate with a knife & fork.
