pre season game
Posted by: else (IP Logged)

i am in the process of organising a pre season game at allestree on sunday 22nd april, to start at approx 1.30 with teas. it can be up to 13/14 players a side(if necessary) and a mixture of all 3 teams inc juniors. i want 2 know who wud be interested, as last time i arranged a game (albeit) it was rained off, we only had 7 people prepared to play - which was a proper **** effort. i will happily continue to try and arrange this game, but only if we have more people interested in turning out. Lookin at how WE ALL performed last season, i think this game is a must, to get off to a good start, so no fooookin excuses!!!!

I've said it before and i'll say it again, this board shouldnt be relied on for organising things because very few actually use it. Only have to look at the names that normally post and it probably covers :-

Me, You, Else, Graham, Sulli, Bravo, Sunil, Jordan and now Planty.

Even if all say yes you still only have 9!!!

Has anyone mentioned it at nets yet? More chance of getting interest from people who will be there as its a much larger audience!!

can all the above confirm if u r available to play, then we will know how many more r needed from nets.

confirmed - although if there are more than 11 who want to play I'm happy to turn up and drink!

Allestree is officially the smallest ground in the world. it wasnt too long ago that you could only hit straight 6's (like i do) as the side boundaries only counted as 4 due to being so short.

lots of fun though trying to chip the 40ft fence and scatter the pensiores on the bowling green though.

Parkin opened the batting with me there once.....lasted longer than Lemon did as well much to his displeasure!!

Was followed by Adam Woodhouse nearly killing pensioners on the bowling green every other over and Rich came in and scored 50 from about 20 odd balls villaging everything over the pavilion. They then, despite it being a cup game, batted out the overs!!

If Hound is barred does that mean he's in quarantine at the bar?
