Just to let you all know. Paul Lemon & myself talked to the contractors last night about the new screens which Paul is donating to the club & an order has been placed.
It is expected that the work will commence on Sat 10 Feb when the materials will be delivered to the ground & they will be fabricated in the car park. For those interested they will be similar to the ones at Riddings & the days of grazed knees, players falling from ladders & multiple ruptures may soon be over.
The contractors will need some help in unloading & moving the screens from the car park onto the ground so please come & help if you can.
No doubt a Tashtext will be sent round when the date is confirmed.

Date for arrival of screens has been delayed a week until Sat 17 Feb @ 10.00. Please try & attend if you can, if only briefly.Chief 2 wrote:

Paul tells me that the sreen chap has finally contacted him & screens will be assembled next Sat 17 March 9.30. However the steel will arrive Fri pm & will need carrying from the car park to the pavilion for overnight storage. Appreciate that this could be a problem for many because of work, but if anyone can get there please do so. Leaving it outside could lead to a Friday evening Scroatfest (ooer missus)
For Saturday we will need some help & will also be having a general tidy up & rubbish clearance. Very little painting needs doing this year as the council have decorated both dressing rooms & installed new lighting that works & does'nt drop on your head.

Just a reminder to those not at nets that sightscreen frames need painting this weekend. 1st coat Saturday 10.30. 2nd coat Monday 10.30. It won't take long but a few rareley seen faces would be appreciated.

Thanks to Planty, Phil Simpson & Bob who turned up to paint on Saturday & Rich & John Else who put in the posts to secure the screens.
Thasnks also to Tash, Greabo & Jordan Crowder who turned up today along with Gooders who came to see the ground & got roped in for a while too.
This pathetic turn out however means we need some people either one evening this week or at the weekend or you won't have any screens to use. All we ask is an hour or 2 with a paintbrush. Will mention at nets but if no tsakers you are on your own to sort it out.

I can make it up either one evening for an hour or so, providing its not Wednesday or Saturday morning.

Sorry i wasnt able to make it up over the weekend but was busy on Saturday morning and then was in Cheltenham watching Chesterfield yesterday.

And Chief was watching paint dry yesterday, far more interesting:oD

Anyone who missed my nagging at nets it is all set for Weds from 6.00. Lots of paint brushes to go round for anyone else who wants to come. I reckon hour & a half will finish the job then I will stop moaning until the next job comes along.
