Official Complaint

To Whom it may concern;

I would like to make an official comment regarding comments made to me this evening from a senior member of our squad.

Whilst batting (or attempting) I heard the sultry tones of a certain Mr Dent accusing me of looking like a northerner. This barage of racial abuse continued through what ended up being a woeful batting performance.

Since returning home I have had to seek advice from my stylist to ensure that this lapse in fashion does not happen again.

I am sure that you can appreciate these comments have caused me a lot of stress and aniexty.

On a lighter note, if we would to undertake some fitness training in the early stages of the sessions then I could take the squad through some drills and exercises as I used to be a fitness instructor.

Let me know

To whom it may concern,

I would like to make an official complaint regarding someone making use of the term "fitness training" in relation to Clay Cross CC.

I feel that for this comment Mr Lumley should be made to sit through a session of bingo in the welfare shouting out every so often!!

Ben .The Northern fitness regime of 3 lard sandwiches washed down by 10 pints of Old & Filthy & 30 Woodbine has allways kept us in good stead.
Seriously though I think that your idea is a good one & should be introduced.

I think Ben is right in some ways, last night I was shocked at the turn out for nets. Cant believe how its changed since last year! Anyways, instead of all waiting 10mins for a turn to bowl it might be a good idea to have a few things going on like bit of fitness and fielding like Alex and Sunil was sorting last night!

Official nets coordinator Hatch is the man to sort it though!

Its worth while considering. With only one net and the amount of players turning out, Al and Sunil's fielding drill was ideal.

Adding fitness training will increase the longevity of those batting in the middle on hot days. If done regularly would help decrease the amount of injuries suffered each season.

Another possibility would be to introduce regular stretch times in to training. The only 2 people I saw doing anything like this last night was Sunil and Dave (who in all honesty looked like he'd got to 3rd base already with the grass.) Regular stretch routines, correctly instructed and executed, would increase flexibility, decrease injury rates and severities, and reduce DOMS effects (DELAYED ONSET OF MUSCLE SORENESS). Thats the wonderfully feeling some of you may have today or the day after. You must know it, the legs feel heavy, the back aches, the shoulder feels numb.

Plus on a lighter note do we have designated club first aider or physio?

hmmm one good turn out at nets on a sunny evening and we're looking to hand ot central contracts. See how many turn out next week when its back to cold miserable drizzle.

As fitness regime goes anything that will make us fitter is well worth it if not a bit futile in many of our cases. Its not necessarily the stretching and fitness that goes on at training on Thurs its the kebabs, chip cobs and beer throughout the rest of the week.

Sounds good Ben - will sort a few fielding drills for next week and can combine that with a bit of fitness work to.

Thats very kind of you Greavsie to put my name forward - touched

Ideally - we could have a longer session or rotate it from week to week - 8 people do fielding for a week while the other 8 bat/bowl - problem may arise though that people will turn up every other week for a bat!!

See what happens - one thing to note from last night - not everyone helped put up the net at the start and as the night drew in people where happy to retreat back to the pavilion.

Perhaps not next week but the week after - a game - 10 balls per over - in for four overs batting - see on numbers first.

Just when I'd started to attend nets and almost enjoy them you have to ruin it by using phrases like fitness regimes!! As a superior athlete I am already honed to the nth degree and I already have my own fitness instructor who gives me daily routines that involve consuming vast quantities of ale. Anything added to this may ruin the balance. I'll just have to watch you lot running round the pitch with a can in my hand!!

We can put it in its own little section on the site if you want?

Sure a fitness page will go down well with the likes of Sulli, Denty, me etc!!

Just whatever you were going to do anyway in Word.

Most of the news and articles on here are just copied in from Word etc anyway so once you've done something email me or Greabo and we can add it.

Putting photos on might be a bit to much for Greabo but it can be done if you send them with the word file. Just need to do something with them!!

If we're getting a bit technical send it to me at :-

jon_branson at yahoo dot co dot uk

Type it with an @ instead of at and a . instead of dot!! Trying to stop spammers from picking up the address and sending me lots of crap!!
