Very well done to Gus Lakes - raising over £900 for TOMA fund
Today (Sunday 18th January 2015) Gus Lakes braved the very chilly North Sea to raise funds for the Arcot Hall Captain's Charity (the TOMA fund). Gus was sponsored for this event by members of Arcot Hall, friends and family and raised a staggering £900+ for the fund.
The Captains Charity for 2014 will be the TOMA Fund, a fund which is dedicated to the memory of Jordan Thomson and his cousin Sophie Ela Atay, both of whom tragically died from childhood cancers.
The fund is an independent charity set up to support children, teenagers and young adults who are being treat for cancer in the North East of England and Cumbria.
It aims to offer
- Support to families who may be suffering financial difficulties whilst their children are receiving treatment.
- Provide equipment for those undergoing treatment.
- Provide opportunties and experiences ensuring memories for the future.
Further details of the charity can be found on their website at www.tomafund.org and I hope that members and visitors will support this worthwhile and local charity.
