10 LEAGUE & FIELD DAY
No successes in 2015 either in the ‘league’ or the end of season ‘Field Day’. Congratulations to Malcolm Paisley League Player of the Year. It is hoped that new members may be encouraged to participate in representing the Club in the season ahead. The selection policy remains to give everyone who wants to play an opportunity to do so – whilst perhaps creating some strong pairings playing regularly together.

Joe Farley Salver - Thursday 19th May
Bill Elder Classic - Tuesday 12th JULY
Championship - Thursday 8th September
Xmas Trophy - Tuesday 6th December

12 ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Seniors Open at City

It was considered that the arrangements in 2015 fell short of what is desirable with a lack of helpers on the day. It is crucial that players attending are warmly welcomed & signing in procedures conducted smoothly – then met on the first tee by a starter and notified of any course issues (e.g. blue flag in bunker – yardages to red, yellow & white flags, out of bounds and other relevant course issues). Likewise the absence of raffle prizes was adversely commented upon by visitors as was there being no catering available for early starters. Tony Dancer with support from Malcolm Paisley & Bruce McNiven agree to lend support this year to organise the event on the day in liaison with the Club Manager. The open to be played at the City on 9th JUNE 2016.

Away Day

AGREED - Alan Johnson organise an ‘away day ‘ to play a local course during JULY 2016. The date will not clash with any league matches. A TROPHY has been purchased for the winner on the day. Hopefully such an event will be solidly supported by the members. It is envisaged that some of the costs will be funded from the bank reserve.

Golf Shirts

AGREED that the professional will purchase ‘Ascot’ blue shirts with the club ‘125 years’ badge on any orders made by members of the section. The cost will be £20.00 LESS a £5.00 subsidy funded from the section funds. The shirts will not denote ‘Seniors’ & may be worn by any member of the Section on any occasion.

THANKS

To all members who supported the section throughout the year.
