Pyman Cup Rules The Pyman Cup is open to Hartlepool and District Clubs. At level 9 first teams can compete and above that second Xvs must be entered ..............
1 The name of the Competition shall be the "Pyman Challenge Cup Competition".

2 The Competition shall be under the Management of the Hartlepool & District Rugby Football Union.

3 Entry shall be open to the 1st XV of Clubs in RFU Club Level 9 and below and the 2nd XV of CLubs in Level 8 and above. Entry criteria to be reviewed annually.

4 Eligibility of Players. Each team shall consist of 21 players including six replacements, five of which shall be trained/experienced in front row positions. Teams to consist of Club Members: a Member being one who has paid his subscriptions and played in one or more games for the said Club.

5 Drawn Games. In all ties except the Final, if after 40 minutes play each way, the scores be equal, then the team that has scored the most tries shall be the winner. If this does not produce a winner then the side that has scored the most goals from tries shall be the inner. If this does not produce a winner, the side that has scored the most penalty goals shall be the winner. If this does not produce a winner the side that has scored the most dropped goals shall be the winner. If this does not produce a winner then the visiting team shall go forward.

If in the Final the scores be equal after 40 minutes play each way, then the game shall continue for ten minutes each way. If no result is forthcoming then the team that has scored the most tries shall be the winner. If this does not produce a winner, then the side that has scored the most goals from tries shall be the winner. If this does not produce a winner, the side that has scored the most penalty goals shall be the winner. If this does not produce a winner the side that has scored the most dropped goals shall be the winner. If this does not produce a winner then the Cup shall be shared.

6 Match Officials shall be supplied by the Durham County Referees Society.

7 The legal ownership of the League Trophy shall be vested in the Hartlepool and District Rugby Football Union. The winning Club shall be responsible for the safe custody and return of the Trophy.

8 Infringements. The Management Committee shall have power to disqualify any individual or Club for infringing any of the Rules.

9 The Management Committee shall have power to amend these Rules. Seen days clear notice of any such amendments must be given to Clubs in the Competition.
