2008 Scottish State of Origin
The 2008 Scottish State of Origin test series has now been finalised. Scotlands two origin regions, West of Scotland and East of Scotland, will go head to head over a two match test series prior to the beginning of the RLC Scottish Conference. The West of Scotland Origin XIII will be headed up by Head Coach Alex Bibby, and Assitant Coaches Gordon Powrie, John Holland, and Morgan Martin. The squad will represent the top players in the region, from the following clubs;
Carluke Tigers
Easterhouse Panthers
Glasgow Bulls
Jordanhill Phoenix
Paisley Hurricanes
Each club will nominate players to attend two training sessions, and from this a squad of 20 players will be selected for the two match test series. Details of the West Origin programme are as follows;
13/04/2008 Training, Nethercraigs Sports Complex, 14.00-16.00
20/04/2008 Training, Nethercraigs Sports Complex, 14.00-16.00
26/04/2008 East of Scotland v West of Scotland, 15.00, Venue TBC
03/05/2008 West of Scotland v East of Scotland, 13.00, Paisley RFC
All are welcome to watch the test matches, come along and support the West, and also the Tigers players involved. The Tigers hope to be well represented in the West of Scotland XIII, if you wish to be nominated for the training sessions please contact us asap, by either emailing the club or contacting a board member directly.
