Another battling performance on Saturday against a stubborn Cambrian & Clydach team with the match ending 1-1. We kept up our recent run of good results with a point towards our battle to avoid relegation and the result and performance proved that we are determined to achieve our objective.
Cambrian & Clydach arrived at the ground full of confidence nicely placed lying second in the table and poised for back to back promotions to the top tier of Welsh League Football. The game started brightly with some attractive football being played by both sides.
Just before half time a great effort from Paul Sweeney struck the outside of the upright and from the resulting goal kick, Cambrian & Clydach took the league. A long punt up field by the Cambrian goalkeeper found their centre forward who won the first header and fed the other striker who shot past the helpless Dale Hulland to send us in at half time with a 1 goal deficit.
The second half started the same with both sides trying hard to get the next goal and the upper hand. With about 15 minutes of the second half played, referee Ryan Jones sent of the Cambrian substitute for foul & abusive language. This gave us the impetous required and it wasn't long before we were back on level terms with a good strike from the lively Paul Sweeney.
The game petered out after the equaliser with both teams cancelling each other out. A great strike by David Cann struck the Cambrian & Clydach crossbar which was to be the last Morriston chance before the end of the 90 minutes.
With 6 games left to go, the side are full of confidence with a away trip to Briton Ferry up next on Wednesday evening.
