FIRST SEVENS WIN AT WINDSOR !!! And £1000 winnings in STASH!!!

Richmond were there to support Windsor Rugby Club's first attempt at hosting a sevens tournament which proved to be a cracking success and a great day out.  Players from all three teams played in our two teams and got some rays under the castle whilst grazing on Sharon and Anna's picnic treats!!!

Anyway, the team one - Dawnie, Row, Jenks, Vicki, Shoulders, Jackie and Kimbo - managed to score loads of tries recording pool match scores of 41-0, 45-0 and 47-5 against their three pool teams, getting through to the semis....only problem was that the Wild Cats (and wild they were with Becci Singleton having two minutes in the sin bin with Nessie Gray having had a few slings of the handbag in the game against Twickenham!) had too come through their pool well, winning two of their three matches 19-10 and 34-5, and only narrowly losing to Camberley 17-12. Sharon, Anna, Eddie, Becci, Hannah B and Hannah J (sounds like a dj outfit!), Aideen and Jen Kehoe subbing for both sides are formidable on the rumble!!!     

SO the semi final draw was us versus us!!! Nightmare!!! We had to resort to one team in red t shirts so the ref had some hope of distinguishing who was who!!! But its a shame both teams weren't to end up as finalists as the Wild Cats definitely gave our other team the hardest game they had all day. 

SO the first 7 went into the final to beat Ealing convincingly.....and win the £1000 prize of Kukri kit....big big well done.

But the most important thing of all was that it was a great day out!!! And memorable moments....lots....
Becci Singleton out running Nikita - yes Nikita !- to score a try from 30 metres out....her wee legs couldn’t go any faster!!
Aideen was always there in support....."I'm right behind you, keep going" came the call.....from the distance!!!
State the bleeding obvious came from Jenks trying to encourage from deep "They're catching you!!!"
And the majority of po-poes kicked their own conversions, very successfully one may add!!!
