The pot already stands at around £300 thanks to those who ran the toffee apple stall on Bonfire night (I know who you are!), raffles after the last couple of games and the Mullaneys selling their baby!!

I reckon £300 is about what we should aim to raise for each person: so that's one person's worth down, 25 to go!! That'll bring the cost down to ~£675 pp instead of the £950 Ivesey quoted as maximum. If you don't want to fundraise, fine just let us know, money from sponsors will still be subsidizing the cost of your trip (about £1100) when you pay £950.

If you have any leads on sponsors etc. please follow them up and let us know - that's where the big money comes from. If we can get money from sponsors in addition to our own graft, the costs to players will come down further. I'd like to see it become affordable to everyone and have some more people sign up cos Argentina will be fantastic... but it won't happen by magic!

Ideas so far are listed below...let us know if you have better ones...and please be pro-active about telling us what you'd like to help with before you're volunteered - everyone's gonna have to muck in!

• 3 Friday nights (Bingo night, Quiz night, Race night???).

Club is booked for Friday 15th Feb - I reckon we should kick off with Bingo. I have found software on the net that does everything (generates cards, has powerpoint display, calls the numbers, automatically checks the winning cards, it's brilliant and costs a tenner!). Any volunteers to help organise? Come on, I'm offering you a way to get early brownie points without having to sell stuff!! Looking at end of March for a QUIZ, possibly in the Slug & Lettuce?????

• An Argentina-themed BBQ, probably in June
• Stalls at minis tournament, youth development day, bonfire night etc.
• Sponsor's lunch
• Player sponsors
• Car washing???
• Collect stuff to sell on eBay/at car boot sale - start looking for saleable stuff you don't want!
• Some kind of sponsored event (I was gonna do a sponsored iron-a-thon, charge people per item and get sponsorship per hour!)
• RFUW Grand Draw (this will be organised by Richmond FC, who might send you some tickets to sell, please return the money/stubs to Shaz, so that Richmond know they came from us).
