Tourists in Venice Italy tour: a night at the opera and lots more....
By Karen 'Vino Rosso' Findlay - October 8 2007
Hope you have all had a good weekend, and if you were at 44 stuff, not too bashed!!! Well tour was a hoot....big well done to everyone who represented the club, we beat Italian league champions Beneton Trevisio 52-17. A fantastic club effort given that the team was made up from players from all three sides playing alongside one another and making it work! >

Proud Dad

There is no point in going into any of the hysterical moments as no doubt pictures on the Richmond site are in the hands of the gods.....but suffice to say there was a birth (Giovani Paulo Mullaney or ASBO'' for short), Billy's new surgical assets stopped the traffic, Kiwi Chris mounted nae climbed a gigantic golf ball (which apparently is a really cherished/famous/wobbily if climbed statue in Italy but hey ho thats the benefits of having consumed buckets of aste spumante!) and the ref will never ever now how close he came to being raped and pillaged....Italian links strengthened as you will no doubt see yourselves with the influx of Italian players coming over to join us this season and we are hoping to have a return game with Treviso at the end of the season once they come over......

Back to real life......training on Tuesday as normal, and Thursday is important session.  There will be trial matches played so please bring a light and dark shirt with you....dont forget otherwise we will have to lend you a string vest...and no-one wants to see that do they!!! Squad selections will be made as a result of that, for the following weeks league matches.

In addition, combinations will be looked at this weekend for those not involved in Super Fours and who need the chance to play a game - you know it always hurts after the first one no matter how much training you have done - so please make sure you let us know on Tuesday that you are available as we have two fixtures on Sunday 9th September - A/B game against Old Albanians away, and a B/C against either Hove or Wimbledon at home in order that the threes get prepared for the start to their league season.

So....happy days.
