Cleckheaton
2nds 22 Beverley 2nds 7
Unlike
the previous week, the side put in a much improved display and were unlucky to
lose by such a margin. For the first fifteen minutes Cleckheaton
were not in the game as the lively Beverley team pushed and pulled the home
defence all around the park. What the side are finding in this league is that
they need to be more clinical in finishing moves off.
Small
errors began to creep in as the game became more robust and in truth 3 of Cleckheatons 4 tries came from errors by the Beverley side.
On many occasions in the past against less organised sides, and playing this
way, Beverley would have scored forty or fifty points. As it was their only
points came from a try by prop Dave 'the Train' Brant, and conversion by the
ever improving Phil Duboulay.
If
the side can build on their experiences so far in this league then they have
every reason to believe they can look to a comfortable top half finish, in
their first season. This week they entertain Bradford & Bingley
2nds in what should prove to be another tough test of the abilities. Its hoped that the side have plenty of support on the
sidelines, kick off 2.15pm.
