BEVERLEY COLTS 52 GOOLE COLTS 0
Beverley colts completed a fine double over their east riding opponents last night to keep their title defence firmly on track. A month ago these same sides met in a bruising encounter at Goole which took the beavers till the final five minutes to seal that match 18-8. It look like it was going to be more of the same with Beverley struggling in the first twenty minutes to excerpt any sort of dominance, mainly due to a struggling scrum and lineout. When the young beavers did finally get some quality ball they used it well, the Brant brothers in particular were making incisive breaks. One of these breaks led to center Mike Cooper going over under the posts to leave his skipper, Phil DuBoulay with the simplest of conversions. This score seem to waken Beverley and only 4 minutes later the Beverley backs sent the ball wide for fullback James Graham to put his wing John Davey over in the corner. Davey was enjoying his best game in Beverley colours and was a threat every time he touched the ball.
First phase ball was still a worry though and it wasn’t until the end of the first half till Beverley struck again, with the impressive flanker Dale Hodgson always the ‘man on the spot’ to dot down for Beverley’s third score. DuBoulay knocked the simple conversion over and Beverley went into the break with a slightly flattering 19-0 scoreline in their favour.
The second half was an entirely different matter, Beverley Colts were outstanding at times as they struck together numerous phases of exhilarating running rugby. The introduction of the ‘pocket dynamo’ Tom Doyle at hooker not only added to an already impressive loose forward trio, but had the added bonus of significantly improving the Beverley lineout with his accurate throws. Off one of these lineouts, Pete Johnson made a break off his blindside wing to link with center Adam Hugill who powered his way over. Tries also followed for Chris Brant, Cooper again, Johnson and Hugill for his second. DuBoulay converted all but one of these to leave Beverley 52-0 up. Goole to their credit never gave up, and were doing their best till the very end in a game played in a fine spirit and superbly controlled by referee Andy Franklin.
Beverley will though take heart from this performance, especially in the second half. It was a fine team effort, with second row forward Eddie Russell awarded the man of the match for having a superb work rate throughout the entire match. The whole squad were quick to note though that there is still a long way to go in their title defence and there were plenty of areas to work on to improve their game.

Spot on report AP, well played colts a very impressive display i thought, showing a lot of potential. You could have a vintage season if you want it enough.

Was a good game lads. Shows what we can do with no training, imagine if we trained as a team!! The score would have been in the 100's.

If the Colts had a 10 that could kick the score would have been in it's hundreds. Get rid of the Frenchman at 10.

I would agree the ten was poor. Kirk would have performed better as he has a smaller rump than the current french boy and is also more mobile.

I agree Kirk would also be able to really get his weight behind those crossfield kicks. Compared to those measley excuses for crossfield kicks attempted by the Frenchman. He would be better offf searching for some truffles to feed mhis massive rump.

Dear the "girl" and "Front row youth",
Are you sure you were watching the right game? The skills on show by the number 10 was nothing short of magic. Harry Potter would be proud. I suggest that "front row youth" should get back to ambling around a rugby pitch trying to look busy whilst the "girl" should not leave the washing and ironing unattended to be posting messages.
p.s. i am 100% english

Ah ha young pretender you have just given away your identity. Do you not know the name of the game?
p.s. are you young pretender to Martin Shaw or Rik Waller.

Young Pretender
I would reply to your obviously envious team mates' comments about the size of your rear end using the immortal words of the late Fred Trueman
"tha needs a big hammer to drive a large peg!"

but front rows are expected to have larger rumps however 10s are not. and yours may be bigger than all of the fronts rows put together

i know who you are back row youth and believe me ive got a long way to go before i get to your size of rump. Also as your skipper for colts i believe a little respect is in order otherwise you may find yourself warming the bench. Although it would have to be a rather large bench to accommodate your rump.
p.s. back row is a bit optimistic mate

its not that i cant take a joke BRY its just that when you tell the joke five times it tends to get a bit repetative.
i think you might need some new jokes. However i think you might be onto a winner with the comment about you being able to play second row/ back row, that one cracked me up:oD

Come on lads calm it down. BRY you do neeed to show your captain some respect and he is a pretty good #9 in fact. The joke about Young Pretender's rump has gone too far and the only people who may comment on it is those who play SOLELY in positions 4-15. Therefore keep fighting your corner Young Pretender particularly with your back to the wall. This way you can use your rump and the wall too your advantage.

Great win on sat YP - keep up the good work.
I will not post anything else in this section so you can say what you want but I thought this site was for adults to chat and have a laugh!

Hear Hear Xavier - I wish. I dont know who BRY is but I do know who YP is and if BRY has 25% of YP's talent perhaps he should "come out" because we need him.

god i was only havin a laugh and i no how good yp is as i have been on the same team as him for a few years now, and as for the comment about him playin 9 that was a continuation of a bit of banter between me and him from before the last colts match, i have respect for yp but that doenst mean i cant have a joke, none of my comments were meant seriously. And as for scoops coment "if BRY has 25% of YP's talent perhaps he should come out" i ve played every saturaday this year for the 3rd team when weve had a team and if not then i have played for the bandits.

YP I think you have truely lost your hidden image, well it is quite hard to hide with a rear the size of yours;-) I couldnt resist mate, thats my last one for now. Back row youth, dont take this abuse from front row youth. Obvously your much fitter than him (being a back row player and all that) and you train much harder than him. I propose a dual to determine who really is the better player.

I think it was I who took the bait not you and I actually felt immediately after I posted my comments that they were a little un called for. I apologise. Keep up playing for the Bandits and hopefully for the seconds and one day the firsts , who knows.

After reading this thread, i felt the urge to say something. We can not deny the fact that our prestigious fly-half has somewhat of a large group of gluteal muscles. But we can not doubt his kicking performance. He may deserve this banter as I myself am a victim of his torment on a day-to-day basis (on and off the pitch), but this guy knows how to kick and is a gamewinner. However, his random antics can be questioned e.g. weird drop-goal attempts in a major cup semi-final!!:-!

And also, we need a half-decent kicker after our former leader decided to go off and play for leeds n that. Complete mistake, there is no room for this kid in our superior XV anymore.
