Official Pink Ba-Bas
Solstice 7s Match Report Part II
By Joey Morgan - July 5 2006
and the second installment that we've all been waiting for is here for everyone to enjoy >

The Pink BB’s had some relaxing time in the Pink Temple, before commencement of the evening’s events. A barbeque was held and many of the Pink BB’s put on their evening attire; A tribute to the Kids from Fame, with as always, a slight pink bias. It was at this point that the prodigal lamb Trish Clyde was welcomed back into the fold. Trish was sporting pink leg warmers, white leggings and rose pink top, topped off with some fabulous make up and her head band was a Nike. A sound effort indeed was the opinion of this reporter! However, Trish’s effort was somewhat lost on Katie Pickle, who commented, “Who did your make up Trish?”, “Was she pissed?”. Ahh bless!

First event of the evening - Kangaroo court; the honourable Judge Joey presiding, known for her zero tolerance approach to minor misdemeanours and her love of the aftershock penalty. Various penalties were handed out to various people for various heinous crimes. Including snogging a boy young enough to be your child, not wearing the regulation fame shorts, being selfish and many more that this reporter cannot even begin to remember. Sentences awarded and served amounted to a bottle of aftershock, bottle of raspberry vodka and half a bottle of port. To say that the Pink Ba Bas were pissed going out that night would be a lie, but there were a lot of happy Ba Bas herding towards the bar that night.

The Pink Ba Bas entered in to the sprit of the occasion, dancing drinking and generally being charming. Visiting Ba Ba Bec and Hoppe, took it in turns to mount Tall Tom, who then tried to ‘buck’ them both – a feat that if I remember correctly, he achieved! There was much cheering going on and all who watched enjoyed show.

The following morning tired Ba Bas again descended on the Pink Temple for coffee and bacon rolls. The morning entertainment was provided by Joey Duggan and her water rocket. Pink Ba Bas and groupies alike ahead and wooed as Philippoussis pumped away, to launch the water bottle high in the sky nearly missing one or two 400 volt power lines. But as every Pink Ba Ba knows, life is all about living on the edge.

Back to the serious business of the day; rugby. The first game against Cheshire was difficult affair, down to a squad of 9 after Katy Pickle; injured yesterday in the Ronin Spirit match; had to pull out with a dislocated finger. The Pink Ba Bas looked lethargic and would have made a snail look like a hyperactive child on amphetamines. No one was even sure whether they had won or lost at the end, but the result favoured the Ba Bas and they continued to the next round.

Scunthorpe from oop north were a more ‘physical’ team. This Pink Ba Ba, was unfortunate enough to run into a closed hand on more than one occasion in this match. But as every Pink Ba Ba knows, closed hands don’t catch balls and Jessie M had a storming game to put the Pink Ba Bas into the final against the old adversaries; Ronin Spirit.

The Pink Ba Bas put up a strong fight to the end, but ultimately were beaten by the better side on the day. Ronin spirit we no doubt helped by having a good nights sleep the night before and collectively not having drunk enough alcohol to set fire to a small South Pacific Island the previous night. Katie Clements in particular had to avoid naked flames the following week, for fear she would spontaneously combust.

Joey Duggan graciously accepted the runners up trophy and all Pink Ba Bas agreed to meet again at Aberaeron 25th August.

This reporter would like to thank all who made this tournament possible and those that made it special. Thank you very much and your mum.
