Yes, there are times when
some members act their shoe size rather than their age.
But ... when it comes to where we walk, what we wear, what we drink etc,
we are all very mature.
If you're walking in Britain, take some tips from those who know:
●Don’t drink and drive.
●Always be prepared for it to rain, snow or
blow a blizzard, especially if you intend to be on any hill top.
●Wear comfortable, strong shoes or boots.
●Wear clothes which will keep you warm, but
which can be carried if they are not needed.
●Consult the weather forecast and take it into
account before setting off on any walk.
●At the start of your walk, park your car
legally and with consideration.
●Don’t overdo the pork scratchings.
●Don’t overdo the length of your walk … always
know your limitations.
●Always use the correct Ordnance Surveyt
map in conjunction with all our walk descriptions, which always assume
you are doing so.
●Don’t take it too seriously and don't worry
if you get your boots dirty. But the most important rule of them all is to use your day out in
the fresh air to enjoy yourselves and, as long as you're not breaking
the law or harming the environment or anybody in it, turn your body
clock back a few years. |
