UNDER 11'S & UNDER 15'S

Both sides surprisingly kicked off their leqague fixtures on Sunday Morning despite the rain the night before.

The Under 11's take the plaudits this weekend after beating Cadnam by 44 Runs.

The Under 15's fielding several players much younger than the required age group, put in a brave performance before going down by 56 Runs.

UNDER 11'S Vs CADNAM

Fielding mainly a newcomer side due to 7 departures to the Under 13 side this year, Hythe put in a very good bowling performance to reduce the visitors to 200 and capture 10 wickets in the meantime. Josh Mead was the star of the show picking up 4 wickets. He was well supported by Nathan Froggett and Kieran Chalmers who both got 2 wickets a piece.

In reply the Hythe batsman took their time and batted sensibly and with the assistance of 46 extras by the Cadnam bowlers Hythe reached 244 for 3 and win by 44 Runs.

UNDER 15'S Vs LANGLEY MANOR

Tom Porter won the toss and put the hosts into bat on a very slippery pitch. Hythe bowled reasonably tidely with Lee Powell putting in good figures of 3-10 off 4 overs. Tom Porter also picked up 3 wickets for 27 but the downside was that Hythe gave away 31 extras which included 22 wides. The skipper himself was the main culprit with 11.

When in came to batting Hythe were never at the races despite 20 from Ben Smith. ( Keep it going Ben cause your in my fantasy league team ) and we ran out losers by 56 Runs. Would have been close but for the extras guys.
