HYTHE XI vs BLUE BELL HILL (Kent)

Tuesday 26th July

crouchey @ menheniot
Skipper Russell MOORE 27

For the second season running Hythe were on the receiving end of a close game when they entertained Holcombe & Blue Bell from Kent.

A downpour just before the start put the game in doubt but half a dozen forks and with some out of bounds areas on the square - the game went ahead in a 30 over contest.

The visitors posted 129 for 8 off their 30 overs - Kev McCarthy 2-21 & Harry Smith 2-5 the pick of the bowlers. Crouchey only gave Harry Houdini 2 overs so must have thought the visitors didn't have enough. Hythe were soon struggling at 27 for 4. Tony North 22 & Harry Smith 26 lead a mini recovery and despite Russell Moore 27 at the end Hythe finished 8 runs short. Moore's 27 inc 5x4's
