White Sets Up Easy Win For Seconds

A strong looking Hythe side proved too much for 10 man Hordle Village as Hythe won by 8 Wickets this afternoon.

Hordle with only ten players won the toss and elected to bat first.

With a four strong pronged attack of Edwards, Froggett, Effeny and White Hythe were looking for a win that would take them back into mid table. Mike Edwards and Rich Froggett bowled tightly but with little luck on a wicket with interesting variations of bounce, such that at the drinks break on 21 overs Hordle were 55 for 3.

After drinks Wayne Effeny continued with the same frugal bowling for little reward whilst at the other end Ian White with subtle changes of pace and bounce deceived five batsmen to help restrict Hordle to a total of 103 all out from 38.1 overs.

Hythe took their catches well - Gary Howe 2, Richie Froggett 2 and Chalky White supporting the bowlers

In reply Sean Tongs (51) and Tom Porter (13) put on an opening stand of 67 in 18 overs before Wayne Effeny and Rich Froggett saw Hythe and Dibden to an eight wicket victory in the 27^th over.
