HYTHE & DIBDEN UNDER 11's

Vs FAWLEY

Sunday 8th June

Sensational U11’s Gain Victory at Fawley

With two recent close contests the U11’s were due a little luck with the results. Today they had the weather and won the toss again but today they didn’t need any luck today as they romped to an emphatic win over their closest rivals.

Fawley were put into bat and with a young side struggled to gain many runs. Hythe’s bowling was steady and precise, all the bowlers had good figures, taking 11 wickets in total, with seven clean bowled. It would be unfair to single any one bowler out as they all produced the goods. 16 overs – 11 wickets, 7 maidens, 8 runs and only 3 wides and 2 no balls. Irrelevant of the opposition they played well.

Batting has been our downfall and with Fawley on 161 runs we shouldn’t have lost this match even before we started batting. Fawley only had seven fielders, so it was put to the team that we needed 250 runs to gain maximum points and that some of the players needed some runs on the board. Alex top scored with 11 runs and was followed by Ali Bryers and Billy Allan on 9. Some of the scores were low due to the amount of wides Fawley bowled and balls that ran along the ground, Fawley giving away 47 extras in total.

What was pleasing is that we didn’t lose any wickets and we ended up on 295 – 0.

A good all round performance by all of the team.

Now we have confidence and have beaten the bottom of the table team, we are up for New Milton ‘A’ next Sunday, At home and on a run, can we topple the unbeaten table leaders!!!!
