2006 WILL BE REMEMBERED AS 'THE ALMOST' SEASON. GOING INTO THE LAST 3 GAMES BOTH SIDES HAD CHANCES OF PROMOTION BUT SADLY IT WASN'T TO BE.BUT A GOOD SEASON WITH THE ATMOSPHERE AROUND THE CLUB FROM 11 YEAR OLD COLTS TO THE SENIORS PROVIDING A GREAT CLUB SPIRIT. >

Hythe First XI again well lead by Simon Dixon had a fine season improving on last year’s efforts and pushing for promotion throughout the second half of the season. The batting was a team effort with all contributing through out the year, the bowling was very impressive and arguably the best attack in the league, and Hythe can expect Nardus Grobler, Ben Kendrick & Paul Whitlock to appear high in the league averages.
