Playing programme

We have 2 Senior Teams playing in the Marstons Shropshire Premier Division and Reserve Division and a third XI who play in the Shropshire Cricket League. League fixtures are played on Saturday afternoons. The leagues operate on a system of promotion and relegation. Matches are 50 overs per side, win, lose or draw with bonus points for runs scored and wickets taken. Matches usually start at 1.p.m (12noon from mid-August). Fixture cards are available from the clubhouse. We have a Ladies Team that play in the Midlands Womens League Division Two, a Sunday Friendly XI and an Under 10's team . We have a thriving Junior Section (The Junior Q's) with coaching sessions will take place on a Friday evening between 6.30pm and 8.00pm. For more imformation contact us at : quattcc@hotmail.co.uk.

Team Selection

A selection committee meets every Monday evening. Team selections are posted on the clubhouse notice board, appear on the play-cricket website and here on the message board . Unavailability for matches should be notified to the captain as early as possible. Text messages or voicemail messages notifying late withdrawal are considered unacceptable, you must convey the message directly to ensure a replacement is available for the match. The Selection Committee reserves the right to withhold selection for players when subscriptions have not been paid.

Cricket

The Quatt Oval is an excellent venue for playing or watching cricket. The wicket is renowned for its quality and the outfield is invariably fast, helping to produce high scores and entertainment for spectators. Mobile covers and sightscreens are available for use. The pavilion has recently had its changing facilities upgraded and Umpires rooms available. We have a good scorebox. We have a non-turf net practice area but we also have a portable net that is used on the edge of the square. In 2005 the Club purchased a bowling machine which is regulaly used at our training nights on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Over the past couple of seasons the Quatt Oval regularly features as a host club for County Squads, County Schools and Local Authority Active Sports. QCC qualified coaches are used by local schools to develop cricket locally.
