CONNAH'S QUAY NOMADS PLAYING SQUAD -2007/8

PAUL PRITCHARD - Goalkeeping - 26/05/84

Paul was first-choice goalkeeper at Caernarfon from 2005-2007. He has also played in the Cymru Alliance with Holyhead Hotspur, Glantraeth, Llangefni Town and Llanfairpwll. A former Wales Under 18 international, he represented Anglesey in the World Island Games and switched to Connah's Quay Nomads in July 2007. Paul's lack of stature is some times a problem, but he more than compensates as an outstanding shot stopper. He has already made a number of match winning penalty saves for Nomads this season.

BEN ALSTON - Right Back - 4/11/86

Born in St Helens, Ben played for St Helens Town, Pilkingtons and Congleton Town, before signing for Connah's Quay Nomads in July 2007. Ben, who's  Nomads debut was delayed by injury, is a strong tackling full back who can also provide cover in central defence and midfield. He has put in some good performances at the centre of defence to cover for injuries. Ben turned to football when injury prevented him from following his first love, rugby league.

WAYNE MORGAN – Defender - 03/05/88

 

Welsh born. Wayne was A member of Chester City's highly successful youth squad that beat Tottenham Hotspur in the 2006/7 FA Youth Cup. He was released from the Saunders Honda Stadium and joined Connah's Quay Nomads in July 2007. Wayne is versatile and can play either side of the defence or in midfield.

ALAN HOOLEY  Defender - 13/10/1978

Alan was signed by Newtown from West Cheshire Leaguers Christleton FC as a central midfielder. After two seasons at Latham Park, the Chester-born midfielder rejoined Airbus, for whom he played in the Cymru Alliance before their elevation to the Welsh Premier. Alan made the short move across to Connah's Quay in January 2008 and has been an ever present in the team since his arrival.

GARY PINCH Captain/Centre Back - 3/01/86

 

Born in Birkenhead, Club Captain Gary, is in his third season with Nomads and has made 51 Welsh Premier appearances for us to date. His previous clubs were Tranmere Rovers, Accrington Stanley and Witton Albion. Gary is a rugged tackling central defender, who good in the air and leads by example, both on and off the pitch.

CHRIS WILLIAMS – Centre back - 09/11/84

   

Bungle moved from home town club Flint Town United to Connah's Quay in 2004 and has been the heart of Nomads defence ever since. With over 100 Nomads appearances, Bungle is  our most experienced WPL player and  is the complete player. Inspirational and very talented, he attracted offers of trials with Millwall and Tranmere Rovers prior to sustaining a fractured cheekbone. It was soon followed by a double meta-tarsal break which kept him out until March. Bungle is also a fitness trainer and a talented singer/guitarist. Some blokes have it all  – Shame about his looks!

ALAN GLOVER – Left back - 17/05/80

Alan joined Connah's Quay Nomads from Congleton Town in August 2007, where he was assistant to current Nomads' number two Andy Lee. With previous Welsh Premier experience at Bangor City and Holywell Town back in the 90s, Alan also played for Warrington Town, Northwich Victoria, Bamber Bridge and Skelmersdale. Alan has represented England Under 18s and British Universities and is currently a PE Teacher in Warrington.

TOM BAKER - Mid-field - 07/07/78

Tom joined Connah's Quay Nomads in July 2007. Previous clubs were  Wrexham, Southport, Prescot Cables when he won a N W Counties League medal, Warrington Town when they won promotion to the Unibond League and Congleton Town. Tommy is a cultured midfield holding player with an eye for goal and a powerful shot. He also works in the civil service and his brother plays football for  Accrington Stanley.

MARK CADWALLADER - Mid-field - 08/07/88

Mark is a graduate of Chester City's youth system that put Spurs out of the FA Youth Cup last year and he had several  Reserve  games before joining Bangor City in March 2007. He signed for Connah's Quay Nomads at the start of 2007/8 season. He has emerged as a talented defender or midfield player with a good close control and a full range of ball skills, since joining Nomads

STUART COOK - Mid-field - 29/03/1986

Born in Cheshire, Stuart is a product of the Altrincham youth set-up. He has been a Connah's Quay Nomads 1st Team Squad member since the 2003/4 season. He is a mobile, hardworking, hard tackling midfielder, who is good in the air and likes to get forward and support the strikers. Stuart became a proud Dad, late in 2007.

WES KILGANNON – Mid-field - 08/04/82

 

Wes was born in Chester. His former clubs are Chester City, Caernarfon Town and Christleton FC. At Christleton, he gained a reputation as one of the most skillful players in the West Cheshire League before joining Connah's Quay Nomads in August 2007. Since joining Nomads, his strength and ability to hold the ball and splay accurate passes from mid-field, has already earned him the Welsh Premier League’s player of the month award, for December 2007

ADAM DICKINSON - Mid-field - 01/11/1986

 

Born in Liverpool, Adam previously played for Tranmere Rovers Reserves, joining Nomads at the start of season 2006/7. Outstanding performances and 11 goals, led to a 2 year contract and trials at several Football League clubs. Royal Antwerp FC in Belgium also showed interest. A Summer injury in Australia restricted him one brief appearance this season and a cruciate ligament injury has ruled him out for the rest of the season.

CRAIG JONES – Mid-field - 07/11/84

 

‘Tigger’ is Liverpudlian who previously played for Penlake, Knowsley and Congleton Town before following assistant manager Andy Lee to Connah's Quay Nomads in August 2007. A midfield dynamo that passes and tackles well and never stops running, Tigger has started in every game since the season began. He also likes to chip in with the occasional goal and is a very popular figure at the club with a playful character and generous personality.

DANNY FORDE – Mid-field - 08/01/1986

Born in Salford, Danny joined Barrow after being released from Boundary Park and also played for Mossley and Ashton United before joining Nomads in January 2008. He is a tenacious player, who has added much needed skill, bite and guile to our mid-field since joining us.
