NOMADS MANAGER JIM HACKETT, SIGNED HIS FIRST SEVEN PLAYERS AFTER TRAINING TODAY. MORE SIGNATURES ARE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT WEEK:- Saturday mornings training was well attended, with apologies from 5 players unavailable due to short notice. >

Fitness and Agility Coach John Roberts put the players through their paces with an enjoyable but rigorous training routine, after which Jim Hackett got to work signing up his first 7 players. The following players were signed for Nomads for the 2009/10 season:-

BEN ALSTON - Defender - 4/11/86

Born in St Helens, Ben played for St Helens Town, Pilkingtons and Congleton Town, before signing for Connah's Quay Nomads in July 2007. Ben has been a first choice player since signing for Nomads two seasons ago. He is a strong tackling full back who is just at home in the centre of defence or midfield. He played for most of last season as a central defender and put in some good performances. Ben turned to football when injury prevented him from following his first love, rugby league.
