NOMADS OPENED THE HOME SEASON AT DEESIDE STADIUM ON TUESDAY NIGHT WITH THIS FRIENDLY DEFEAT:- After playing some good football on the ground and creating a number of chances, goals from Liam Loughlin on 22 mins and Tom Baker on 30 mins sent Nomads in at half-time with a 2-1 lead. In windy the conditions, Nomads gave possession away with too many high balls in the second half and paid the penalty as Winsford scored 3 goals. >

"In the first half we looked better going forward. We played a lot of ball on the floor and had some chance's and their keeper made some very good saves and blocks to keep us out. To me, we were open at the back, so we give them a good look at goal that they could not take advantage of (as luck would have it).

In the second half, Bungle played with, I think Chris Hebert in the centre and we looked strong at the back but played too many high balls that they dealt with easily and that put us on the back foot and to let them in to score.

It was windy which did give both sides problems at times, but the score did not really matter. Our striker with the number 9 shirt looked very good and played well with Liam upfront. The thing for me on the night, was the work that the players put in for each other and at times the football we played on the floor was outstanding with a great performance from our very young goal keeper (I hear that he is just 16) The night as a whole showed glimpses of things to come. Well done to all !"
